Saturday Night Fever Opening Scene





Use of Camera: At the begging of the film we get an establishing shot of the city. We get a close up and a medium shot of the character, this is so we can see his features.

Use of sound: We hear the sound of traffic, this will make us know its a city without getting to see the location. We then see the main character, he is walking along to the song which is playing in the background.
Use of titles:

Mise en Scene: The setting is based in the city, we can tell this from the skyscrapers and the bridges. He is carrying a paint tin, this shows that he may be a labour worker or is just delivering something for a friend.

Editing:

What we find out about the story: We don't find out anything in the first two minutes, we only find out who the main character is.

What find out about characters?
We don't find out a lot in the first 2 minutes, but we see a confident well liked man walking around he city.
